Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's main economic development agency and a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government.

We work with partners in the public and private sectors to identify and exploit the best opportunities to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy.

Our 2015-18 Business Plan sets out our approach to help deliver long term, inclusive economic growth for Scotland and our focus remains on the four key priorities - internationalisation, innovation, investment and inclusive growth.

  • Internationalisation: Helping more companies in more sectors to become exporters, and helping existing exporters to grow their overseas sales;
  • Innovation: Encouraging more companies to invest in R&D in other forms of innovation and in efficiency improvements and helping companies maximise the returns on their investment;
  • Investment: Supporting companies to invest in new plant, machinery and buildings, and helping companies access the finance needed for growth;
  • Inclusive Growth: Attracting skilled jobs through inward investment and improving the leadership and entrepreneurial skills of our companies and people.
